NORSE ATLANTIC WILL CONNECT MIAMI TO OSLO & LONDON WITH THE BOEING 787

Starting on September 18, Norse Atlantic Airways will begin its first-ever service to Miami International Airport (MIA), operating two routes from London Gatwick International (LGW) and Oslo Gardemoen International (OSL). This will consolidate Norse’s operations to South Florida as the company reroutes its services out of Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL).

Launching flights to Miami

On May 31, Norse Atlantic Airways announced it will alter its services to Florida in the United States. Currently, the airline flies twice a week from Oslo to Fort Lauderdale onboard its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. Nonetheless, beginning September 18, the company will consolidate its services and only operate flights to Miami International. It will additionally launch a new route from London Gatwick to this city. On its website, Norse Atlantic also promotes operating services between London Gatwick and Orlando International (MCO).

Customers traveling on its Fort Lauderdale route after this date will be rebooked to its new Miami service or be offered a full refund. Bjørn Tore Larsen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Norse Atlantic Airways, said,

“We are pleased to be able to now offer the popular destination of Miami as part of our winter route network. Miami has high levels of passenger demand with both direct and connecting traffic volumes greater than other airports in the region.”

He added the company is looking forward to being able to offer increased choice and flexibility to cargo customers. Meanwhile, Ralph Cutié, Miami Director and CEO, welcomed the low-cost long-haul airline as Miami becomes their seventh destination in the United States.

Norse Atlantic’s reach

The carrier was founded by Bjørn Tore Larsen in 2021. The first flight took place on June 14, 2022, between Oslo and New York. It currently has a fleet of 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Each long-haul aircraft has the capacity to carry 338 passengers in a two-class configuration. Norse offers 282 seats in economy and 56 in premium economy. The Premium cabin offers a 43” seat pitch and 12” recline.

Passengers can choose from a simple range of fares, Light, Classic, and Flextra, that reflect how they want to travel and which options are important to them. Light fares represent Norse’s value option, while Flextra fares include the maximum baggage allowance, two meal services, an enhanced airport and onboard experience, and increased ticket flexibility.

According to its website, Norse Atlantic Airways currently operates 17 long-haul routes, ten departing from London Gatwick and the rest from Oslo, Berlin (BER), Paris (CDG), or Rome (FCO).

From London Gatwick, Norse Atlantic Airways operates flights to Barbados (BGI), Boston (BOS), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Kingston (KIN), Los Angeles (LAX), Montego Bay (MBJ), New York (JFK), Orlando (MCO), San Francisco (SFO), and Washington Dulles (IAD).

From Oslo, it flies to Bangkok (BKK), Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, and New York. Finally, it also serves New York from the three other European cities, Berlin, Paris, and Rome.
